When booking you will be asked the name and age of the participant, how you found out about the course or workshop and if you would like to join our mailing list.
We will also ask if the participant has any special educational needs or access health/other requirements we should know about. Signals aims to be as inclusive as possible so this should not affect their place on the course or workshop, however, it helps us to know anything that may affect participants learning or enjoyment of the workshop.
Terms and Conditions of Booking
- Courses and workshops are only booked on receipt of full payment.
- Please note that your payment is non-refundable 7 days prior to the event.
- In the unlikely event that we should have to cancel an event, you will receive a full refund including any booking fee.
- We would like to add you to our mailing list so we can keep you updated with Signals courses and events. Please say at the time of booking if you would like to join our mailing list. We do not pass any information on to third parties and your data will be kept in line with our data protection policy.
Additional Information for Children and Young People Workshops
If our workshops for children and young people run over lunchtime, please make sure your child has a drink and packed lunch.
Those attending workshops for ages 11+ are given free time for a lunch break, they may leave the building if they choose. They do so at their own risk. If you would rather your child did not leave the premises, please let us know.
Signals may take the group offsite for lunch or as part of course activity. Please make sure your child has something warm to wear and comfortable shoes. If you do not wish your child to be taken offsite, please inform us at the time of booking, or when dropping your child off for the workshop.
We kindly ask parents to accompany children and young people at the beginning of the workshop, when dropping them off. This is so we can verify emergency contact details sign release forms and go through any last-minute information on the day.
Parents are always welcome to attend a workshop with their child.
For 7+ workshops please make sure you collect your children promptly. We ask parents to arrive 5 – 10 minutes before the end of the workshop so their child can show them their work. Those attending 11+ workshops will be free to leave at the end of the workshop.
If you are delayed in picking your child up, please call the office on 07726 882403 or 01206 560255 at the earliest possible time so we can inform your child and make arrangements for them to be looked after until you arrive.
Signals aims to create a safe and happy environment for children attending workshops. All Signals Staff and Tutors hold recent, enhanced police checks (DBS).
Signals has a Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Policy that we adhere to for all our activities. This is regularly updated in line with changes to the law and government guidance. If you would like to see a copy of Signals Child and Adult at Risk of Harm Safeguarding Policy, you may request one via email. Please contact info@signals.org.uk for more information.
Additional Information for Adults Courses
If your workshop or course runs over lunchtime, please feel free to bring a packed lunch with you or to go offsite for food. Your tutor(s) will agree with the group on the day what time and for how long the lunch break will be. For some workshops and courses, you may be required to go offsite as part of the group activities. Please make sure you bring something warm to wear and comfortable shoes if this is the case.
Photography and Filming
From time to time, Signals will photograph and film activities, groups and individuals during our public education workshops, courses, screenings or other events for marketing and evaluation purposes. We will always ask permission to take you or your child’s photo first and you will be asked to sign a Release Form. You can state on this form any restrictions on us using you or your child’s photo.
Feedback
We really appreciate any feedback you can give us as we’re continually looking to improve our work. If you have any comments or suggestions about our workshops and courses or the booking process, please email: info@signals.org.uk
