Could you use your skills and experience to support Signals? We’re looking for new volunteer Trustees with a variety of skills and experience who are interested in helping to develop the organisation.
Signals is a centre for creative digital learning, working extensively within East Anglia. We specialise in filmmaking, digital art and use media production for social, learning and creative outputs.
Signals works with young people, artists, filmmakers and disadvantaged groups and has a long and proven track record of developing creative and innovative digital media arts projects and seeks to have an ongoing positive impact in peoples’ lives by encouraging creativity, developing skills and raising aspirations.
Our recent projects have included wildlife inspired video game making, girls only creative coding, BFI affiliated film industry training and various projects with local schools embedding creativity into the STEM curriculum.
- Filmmaking at Fingringhoe Wick, part of our HLF Funded project documenting the changes in season at the nature reserve.
- Behind the scenes of a shoot on our BFI Film Academy course.
- Stop motion animation at the Colchester Childrens Festival, advertising our well being project with Colchester Library.
- Making wildlife inspired video games at Fingringhoe Wick.
- Robot car building and programming at our Girls Only creative code club.
Signals is now keen to expand and build upon the expertise it already has on the Board and in particular, but not exclusively, would like to hear from people with experience in the following:
- Education/schools
- Accountancy
- Legal
- Artists and filmmakers
- The creative industries
- Youth work
The time commitment for all board members is the attendance at bi-monthly evening meetings (approx. 2 hours) inclusive of the AGM, and possible attendance of sub committee meetings as required. For more information about Signals please visit the website www.signals.org.uk.
If you are interested and wish to have an informal discussion about how you could be involved as a trustee then please contact Signals Director Rachel Hipkiss on 01206 560255 or email info@signals.org.uk
We look forward to hearing from you.
