Plug In: SHOWCASE

Signals invites you to a FREE event on Saturday 24th March, 10am – 5pm at Firstite, Colchester. As part of the Plug In: Digital Arts Festival, you will be able to witness performers such as Leafcutter John, who produces music from light! Or even take a step back in time and experience Roman Colchester VR with Dystopia Studios. Alternatively, why not give it a go yourself with a range of workshops and digital art games available to try on the day.

Leafcutter John will be showcasing his amazing talent as a songwriter, electronic musician and digital artist, by performing with his custom built ‘light Interface’. The device produces light from sound in a way that both entertains and amazes!

The amazing talent at Miracle Tea will be showcasing their game Ruya. ‘A game of tranquillity through the art of matching cute characters in Ruya’s world of dreams.’ Assist Ruya in her journey of deep meditation through a variety of entertaining levels and challenges.

‘Pushing the boundaries of modern education’, Dystopia Studio’s have created a virtual reality experience, capable of immersing the user into an accurate interpretation of Roman Colchester. This virtual reality history experience is definitely not one to be missed!

Essex-based chip tune musician [z]ki will also be making an appearance. Demonstrating some fascinating music through digital media and sound.

Lost Words, a multi-award winning platform game created by Sketchbook Games, will also be making an appearance! Set in the pages of a diary the game features a story by Rhianna Pratchett. Inviting users to run on words and move them to solve puzzles in order to unlock the fantasy world of Estoria, where words are even more powerful.
