Colchester Film Network – October Meetup

This FREE event is open to anyone with a passion for filmmaking, including aspiring film students and those just starting out and will give you the opportunity to network with people connected to all areas of the filmmaking process, from camera operators, to sound designers, art directors and more. So whether you’re on the hunt for cast and crew for a new project, or looking to explore your career options, this is the perfect time and place to discuss all your current and future projects with great company.

Brian Warren, Director of The Backstage Centre

The Backstage Centre was designed in consultation with industry experts from some of the world’s best theatre live production venues. Located in the High House Production Park, Purfleet and purpose-built in 2013 to accommodate major productions, live events, rehearsals, conferences and workshops.

Alycia Potter, Filmmaker

Winner of the BFI Future Film Festival’s #FFF60SECS filmmaking competition, and alumni of Signals’ Film Academy Program. Alycia recently setup Potter Projects, a worldwide community for young filmmakers. Potter Projects strive to include all voices in film and create a new wave of cinema.

Siobhán Smith, Animator and Signals Creative and Learning Producer

Siobhán is an animator who creates and delivers a range of film making and creative workshops and projects for Signals. She won a scholarship to study Character Animation at Central Saint Martins in 2016 and has since created films for the Children’s Society and the English National Opera. Her graduation film Stitch was nominated for numerous awards including ‘Best new British Animation’ and screened in over 30 film festivals across the world.
