Thanks to funding from BBC Children In Need, Signals have programmed a series of eight practical film, animation and digital workshops, primarily for those on the autistic spectrum but we welcome young people with other Special Educational Needs who would benefit from the workshops.
In this FREE taster session participants have the opportunity to try their hand at filmmaking, animation and video game making in a relaxed environment.
There are up to twelve places available on this taster session and tickets are on a first come first served basis. Please note: We do ask that parents or carers remain with participants for the duration of the session.
During this taster session you will have the opportunity to book onto the eight planned workshops throughout the year, they cost just £5 each or all eight for only £30.
These workshops will be limited to six participants and topics include video game making, spooky stop motion animation and an introduction to filmmaking. Check out our what’s on page for the workshop dates and details. If you can’t make it to this taster session you are still welcome to book onto these workshops, just give us a call in the office.
Not sure what to expect? Heres a video from BBC Essex who interviewed participants and staff from a previous years workshop.
While we do not exclude those young people with Autism Spectrum Condition or SEN from attending our regular holidays workshops we have designed these additional workshops to support those with ASC by shortening the duration, including more breaks, introducing a maximum of six participants and having two tutors that are autism awareness trained.
