Digital Harwich Update
Over the past year Signals has been working in Harwich, engaging as many children and young people as possible in creative digital activities, including animation, filmmaking, coding, games design and robot making.
We have been working with youth organisations and schools, delivering a regular digital after school club at Mayflower Primary School, a Code Club at Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre and also running lots of holiday workshops.
At Easter we did a three-day workshop making games and robots for racing and ‘battles’ It was a lot of fun. Check out this video for some highlights.
We have been able to do this work thanks to the Reaching Communities Lottery Fund that supports this project. Thank you to the lottery players that have made this possible. We have also had support from Tendring SPF and Essex Community Foundation.
This has meant that all our activities have been free. We are about halfway through this project now and looking forward to doing even more in the coming year.
We have been happy that we can provide new activities and opportunities for children and young people in Harwich, helping them learn creative and digital skills.
