We are delighted to announce that we will begin our tenth BFI Film Academy on Saturday the 19th November 2022 and applications are open now.
The BFI Film Academy aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16 – 19, to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to make a career in film a reality.
The Signals BFI Film Academy is a series of workshops and masterclasses including: writing for screen, acting and directing, lighting/camera, sound and post production, plus an industry visit. The full Academy course costs just £25 however bursary places and help with transport/childcare costs are available so please don’t let this discourage you.
This course is perfect for anyone who is serious about a career in the film industry. Participants have a number of opportunities to further their learning through being a member of the BFI alumni, such at NFTS courses and being mentored by BAFTA nominated directors.
