BFI Film Academy 2018

Applications for this year are now closed, if you would like to be one of the first to hear about opportunities such as the BFI Film Academy please go to the bottom of the page and join our newsletter mailing list.

We are delighted to announce that we will begin our sixth BFI Film Academy on Saturday the 13th of October 2018.

The BFI Film Academy aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16 – 19, to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to make a career in film a reality.

The Signals BFI Film Academy is a series of workshops and masterclasses including: writing for screen, acting and directing, lighting/camera, sound and post production, plus an industry visit. The Academy costs just £25 and bursary places and help with transport/childcare costs are available.

This course is perfect for anyone who is serious about a career in the film industry. Participants have a number of opportunities to further their learning through being a member of the BFI alumni, such at NFTS courses and being mentored by BAFTA nominated directors.

Did you know Signals BFI alumni have worked on Star Wars films!
